TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is an approach to equipment improvement used to reduce costs and improve quality and delivery reliability. Originally developed among Toyota's supply base, TPM has become an essential part of World Class Manufacturing, focusing improvement activities on production equipment and being used to integrate maintenance with production. TPM has assumed great importance in the Food, Beverage and Packaging industries, where cost is very much driven by equipment performance.
The goals of TPMThe goals of TPM are Zero Breakdowns, Zero Accidents and Zero Defects - performance, safety and quality. This is coupled with the objective of involving everyone in equipment improvement and breaking down barriers between departments. The starting point of TPM is to measure OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and perform Loss Analysis to give both a baseline for continuous improvement and to identify improvement priorities.
Our TPM servicesOur TPM services include auditing, programme development, training, facilitation and implementation support. We also run public workshops on the Foundations of TPM as well as on Advanced TPM Techniques such as Early Equipment Management, Maintenance Decision Logic and Quality Maintenance (Process Control).
