The best way to learn about 5S is through implementation workshops.  These can involve up to 18 people and three separate project areas.  The key point is that you cannot 5S someone else's work area.  At least 60% of the participants in a 5S project should be members of the team from the work area concerned.  They can be assisted by managers, technical staff etc, but 5S is a natural work team activity.

5S is used to introduce Lean and TPM concepts, depending on the nature of the work area. 

During a One Day Workshop, teams are introduced to the concepts and techniques of 5S and perform a 5S Audit of their work area and develop a 5S Improvement plan for presentation to management.

In a Two day workshop teams will also carry out the Initial Sort (Red Tagging), Set Locations and Limits in their work area and begin to develop visual management.

All workshops conclude with a presentation to management, and we can also provide management briefings to ensure that managers understand what is required to support successful 5S implementation.  We can also provide ongoing facilitation, progress reviews and support for your teams.
