Our standard two day in-house SMED workshop takes teams  through the SMED process in the classroom, using the 'Bustagut' machine changeover simulation.  We then discuss a particular shopfloor changeover from your plant, devise a 'Best Known Way', perform the changeover and then use the SMED process to analyse the result. 

Teams develop a three stage improvement plan - method improvements, low cost modifications and high cost modifications and automation.  Applying this process, most teams can cut at least 50% off their average changeover time with just method improvements and low cost modifications.
